The GAMP® guide, first published in 1994 by the Pharmaceutical Industry Computer Systems Validation Forum (now the GAMP® Forum) in collaboration with the ISPE®, has become a standard for the validation of computerized systems in the pharmaceutical industry. Although it is not legally binding and alternative validation approaches are possible, it serves as an important guideline for manufacturers and suppliers.
